Do Everything

I was a big fan of the Karate Kid movies and the theme song of the second movie was, “Glory of Love” by Peter Cetera.

I would hear that song and I would think of the movie and tear up.

I was moved by the Japanese belief that taking away someone’s honor was something you’d fight to the death to get back.

As an adult I look into the world and wish there was more of that…maybe not the ‘fight to the death’ part, but more respect, integrity and honor.

The songs has a line that says, “I am a man, who will fight for your honor, I’ll be the hero that you’ve been dreaming of,” and I can’t help but think of that man as JESUS.

One of the verses says, “You keep me standing tall….You help me through it all…I'm always strong when you're beside me.”  Like Jesus.

Though the song says, we did it all for the glory of love, I believe we could change the lyrics to say, WE DID IT ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
