Pour Your Love

I love to think about love pouring out onto me or pouring love onto someone. This is such a warm and satisfying image for me.

There is a problem though. I need first to be connected to the source of love in order to replenish the love I give.

Imagine I am a vase full of water and the water represents the love I pour out over my family, friends and strangers. As I start to tip over to pour love out, I will inevitably tip so far I could possibly break. However, if I’m connected to the water source, the one who IS love, then I will never run out of love to give.

Also , when I wrote these words of the prayer, I was reminded of the song, “Pour Your Love Down” by one of my favorite Christian bands, Audio Adrenaline. This song pours love over me and gives me more love to give!
