The Lord Said
Oh how many times have you faced a decision where you had to decide between doing the right thing and doing what you are expected to do. This is a major dilemma!
When facing a tough decision, some will suggest it’s best to “sleep on it” before moving forward. I live to imagine that it is what Joseph did. Then while he slept, he was able to settle into what he was to do.
Can you imagine if Joseph didn’t know God? If he didn’t pay attention to his subconscious during his sleep? What would have happened if Joseph didn’t listen to God’s message in his dream and followed through with his intention of divorcing Mary?
There would be a completely different story about Jesus’ birth! However, God knew Joseph was a faithful servant, and believed in God. He knew Joseph would do what God asked of him, even through it would bring ridicule.
What faith! I pray today for faith like Joseph! May I pay attention to God 24/7 even when I am asleep. May I follow God’s desires even when he calls me to do something that is counter-cultural!
