Lead Us as We are to Go

This 4th Sunday of Easter is often referred to as Good Shepherd Sunday. This is obviously because of the Gospel and the Psalm speaking of the shepherd. I wrote this prayer based on the scripture and the image of Jesus as my shepherd, leading me, helping me stay on the right path, calling out to me when I stray and loving me despite my wanderings.

I stray like a little sheep….lead me as I am to go

I wander around without direction…lead me as I am to go

I listen to the voices of the world…lead me as I am to go

You know my spirit and still love me…lead me as I am to go

You are the gate which leads me to heaven…lead me as I am to go
