Show My Glory

We usually hear the word glory when referring to someone fighting to gain land or prestige such as a king who wins a battle. We also hear it when we talk about God’s glory, meaning something wonderful and powerful.

When I think about glory, I can’t help but think about Martin Luther King JR’s life and legacy. Specifically the movie SELMA and the song titled “Glory” on the soundtrack by John Legend. When I think of people standing up for their rights and the rights of others, I see glory…I feel glory. This movie and especially the song encompasses for me how glory looks and feels.

Glory is bigger than us. It is something outstanding and extravagant; not your everyday. When glory is shown, it makes an impact and it is unforgettable. This scripture says God made YOU and I glorious, with glory, which means each of us have glory within. I am humbled by this but also inspired to live with integrity so I can live a life that is glorious!
