Life is a journey…

Welcome!

I wear my faith on my sleeve and I strive to live a life of integrity and intention. I am a joy-seeker, an off-road enthusiast and scripture lover.

He Gave Power

He Gave Power

We make a lot of choices each day. We decide what to eat, what to wear and how we spend our money. These are just a few examples of the choices we make.

Here are a couple more…

  • You might include making the choice to laugh at a joke that has a discriminating punchline or is uncouth in order to fit in or be accepted by the group or don’t laugh and stand up for someone who cannot stand up for themselves.

  • You might need to choose to open the door for a stranger or someone who has a baby stroller or has their hands full with groceries or you don’t.

  • You might accidentally bump the car in front of you in the parking lot at the mall and need to decide whether you will leave a note or not.

SO MANY CHOICES!!!

Did you know God gave you free will so you could willingly choose to believe in and follow him? Not only did he give us the ability to choose what to do, how to dress and what to eat, but we get to decide what is right and wrong as well as whether or not we want to accept the fact God created the universe and everything in it. This is a huge choice!

When faced with a choice, some people sit down and make out a pros and cons list, depending on the weight of the decision. A fairly simple example would be to decide what to have for dinner. Will I choose the hamburger or the salad? If I eat the cheeseburger will I feel as good afterwards as I would if I ate the salad? We all have to decide for ourselves what we will choose!

Unlike the cheeseburger and salad example, some of the choices are two things we don’t want or two things we REALLY want. These decisions are especially difficult to make. I believe that when faced with these types of decisions, I’m glad I have God in my corner to help me discern the options. Even though he gave me free will, doesn’t mean he won’t be there to help me make the best choice for me.

Also, unlike the cheeseburger and salad example, God will not taunt you for your decision. I mean, if I ate the cheeseburger, my belly would ache and I’d be miserable because I don’t eat meat. So, that choice would cause me pain. God doesn’t work like that. If I make a decision that is not in line with my faith, God doesn’t send the plague upon me.

I 100% believe that when you decide to follow God, you see things differently. God gives you a new perspective. Consider making the choice to get new vision, God’s vision! When you open the scriptures and begin to read about God and his followers, you will surely see things differently!
