Awaken Me

As we are deep into the Lenten Season, this scripture is reassuring to me. I am comforted by another example of Jesus fulfilling God’s plan.

Further, even if I have failed or have “let die” any of my Lenten sacrifices, Jesus calls me out of the darkness to awaken and renew my commitment. I’ve been given another opportunity to let my words and actions show God’s glory (similar to what Jesus did by raising Lazarus).

I know I am a sinner and I am a slave to my humanness often. I’m eternally grateful to God for his grace and mercy to allow me chance after chance to complete my mission. I’m equally grateful for Jesus’ example, teaching me how to live out the commandments. And equally grateful for the Holy Spirit for never leaving my side and sharing gifts as I need them to help me navigate this life I’ve been given.
